Taken- a- back, Smitten, & Captivated are all adjectives that describe the Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 runway show. My first view was a sneak peak on Style.com and further search on You Tube and revealed the actual show. Watching the collection unveil on the runway is not the same as seeing snaps of the collection. This was not just a runway extravaganza, but also the beginnings of a show, play, musical or whatever you might call it. The opera music by Philip Glass was just the perfect touch to Marc Jacob’s edgy, but girly collection.

The following are some of my favorite looks from the Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 collection:

I didn’t feel the colors were very spring like compared to other runway shows.  I have to say, I loved that the collection had a transitional feel. Most pieces are wearable throughout the year however, some of his looks are not wearable outside a runway show. Clear plastic skirts and dresses, although look amazing down the runway, but not so comfortable worn when designing shoes at a desk.

The following is a closer look at some of my favorite details from the collection. I was enamored by the clear TPU (plastic) cowboy boots, fringe handbags, playful maryjanes with shimmery leathers and bold colored straps, bold buckles on the bags, raw edge (un-stitched) handbags, and many fun handbag silhouettes from satchels and clutches to bowling bags in fun colors!.  Check them out!
