I would like to introduce to you Little Miss Shoe Girl. A blog about a day in the life of a kids shoe designer. For the last four years, I’ve been blogging about my life as a shoe designer. I’ve shared my rough sketches, illustrations, inspiration trips, and basically what I do as a shoe designer. In addition to designing women’s shoes, I design kids shoes. My footwear design career started as a kids shoe designer. It has been my passion, and still is today. I even wrote a blog post in 2009 here.
For the last several years, I’ve been wanting to start a blog just for kids footwear design and a day in the life of a kids shoe designer. I’m so busy that I’ve not been able to commit to this endeavor. So, for now, it’ll be part of my blog, under Little Miss Shoe Girl. This is not a blog just for girls shoes, but also for boys, and all size ranges. My reason for wanting to share about a day and a life of a kids shoe designer is because kids shoes is a very creative process. I remember when I worked in-house as a kids shoe designer many of my colleagues would not take kids design seriously. If they only knew what we, as kids shoe designers, put into our work. It’s not just about taking down from men’s and women’s shoes! Or at least, I don’t think it should be…
I hope you enjoy reading about kids shoes, and of course if you have any ideas or you’re a kids shoe aficionado, I would love to hear from you!
